"Heaven Scent" Hot Rolls

These hot rolls are a recipe that weren't necessarily handed down from generation to generation, but rather taught, from great grandmother, to grand mother, from mother to daughters, and from daughters to granddaughters, ( and sons and grandsons as well ). Thus allowing for precious time spent with your loved one, learning to cook, while at the same time creating a precious memory. They are a heavenly addition to any meal. Ingredients needed: ( Approximately ) 6 cups of all purpose flour, 2 packages of rapid rise yeast, 3 Tbs. of sugar, 2 tsp. of  salt, 2/3 cup of Crisco® shortening, 4 cups of warm water. Preparations are as follows: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a large mixing bowl, set aside. Grease a large baking pan also set aside. Mix together in a medium sized bowl, 4 cups of warm water, sugar, and shortening, until dissolved. In a separate bowl mix together, flour, yeast, and salt, then add dry ingredients to water, mixture, adding flour slowly as needed to form a non sticky dough. Knead generously, and place dough into the prepared large greased bowl. Allow dough to rise until double in size, knead again and flour if sticky, punch dough down back into bowl, and allow to rise again till double in size. Then tear off roll size pieces of dough, place into the prepared greased baking pan and bake at 375 degrees for aproximately 30 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy.
